Community

St. Swithin's is very much at the centre of the community here in Holmesfield, with a strong connection to the local school, Penny Acres Primary.

St. Swithin's parish in Holmesfield is also part of the wider Dronfield with Holmesfield Parish in which a team of clergy, including St. Swithins' resident vicar William Eardley, work together to provide the area with pastoral support, inspiring ministry to further the kingdom of God in the Dronfield and Holmesfield area.

We also hold an after school club called Jzone (Jesus Zone) linked to the local primary school, but children of primary school age from other schools are most welcome to come along to the sessions, to find out more information about this group contact Joan Dovenor on: 01246 412328.

As a church we help run the toddler group that meets in the Holmesfield Village Hall, on a Tuesday. For more details contact Denise Eardley on: 0114 289 1425.

St. Swithins Church aims to support the local community in Holmesfield. We do this by being involved in its local organisations such as Penny Acres Primary School, The Holmesfield Village Society, Flower Club, Gardening Club and WI. We also have strong links with Cowley Mission and The Vine and joint services are held three time a year.
